Martinhal Cascais is part of the Sintra Cascais National Park and located between two Championship Golf courses. Within easy reach of the resort are Cascais and Guincho Beach, whilst further along the coastline are the beaches of Estoril and Carcavelos where guests can enjoy surfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, diving and boat trips.
Central to the Martinhal's philosophy are families and children making this an excellent family resort. They have created an outstanding 700 square meter Kids Clubhouse offering various areas each designed to cater for specific age groups. Babies and toddlers are taken care of in the Baby Room, while older children can enjoy numerous activities at the creche and Raposinhos Kids Club. During the summer months the hotel also runs clubs for teenagers where they can socialise and make friends while enjoying more active pursuits.
The hotel and surrounding areas offer a wide range of options from beach and sport activities to cultural sightseeing options. Tennis, horse-riding, cycling and hiking are also excellent choices to experience the region. Whether it be on foot, horseback, water, or on wheels these activities have been carefully selected to suit all tastes and families. Within the resort there are three pool areas for guests to families to enjoy year round : the Pool Hangout which is open in the Summer only, the indoor and outdoor pools next to Finisterra Spa and the Kids Clubhouse pool.
There are two restaurants for guests to enjoy. O Terraço offers an extensive buffet at breakfast time while for lunch and dinner guests can enjoy typical Portuguese cuisine complemented by local wines. Os Gambozinos is a favourite choice with families - a traditional Italian Tratorria serving a selection of fresh pastas and pizzas. Both restaurants are family friendly, featuring a dedicated children’s play area as well as special children’s menu in addition to a variety of fresh purees for babies.
The resorts rooms are large, spacious and beautifully fitted, the bathrooms have both a shower and a luxury bath. Certain rooms also offer Italian designer bunk beds to accommodate children allowing families the comfort of staying in the same room when needed.
